Request an injection moulding quote: an engineer replies within 48 hours on working days

Five questions a sourcing engineer asks before the first email, answered in order, then the form. A STEP file or a PDF at any stage of design is enough to start. Madhusudhan, our Head of Production, replies with DFM feedback within 48 hours on working days.

Material certificates for the grades we run, certificates of conformance, inspection reports and the NDA come with the offer; ask with your enquiry.

1. What we mould, on which machines, in which materials, to what size

Thermoplastic parts from 10 g to 5.2 kg, moulded at Peenya, Bengaluru, on nine injection moulding machines: eight horizontal machines of 60, 180, 200, 480, 650, 720, 850 and 1300 tonnes clamp force and one vertical machine for insert moulding, all with servo drives and SCADA/HMI process monitoring.

Materials: polypropylene and PP copolymer, 20% glass-filled polypropylene, polycarbonate, nylon 6 and 66 unfilled and 15% and 30% glass-filled, ABS, HDPE and PET, dried and processed to grade.

Also: product design, CAE mould-flow before steel is cut, managed tooling through partner toolrooms under Kruger’s design authority, 3D-printed prototypes, insert moulding, ultrasonic welding, pad and screen printing, sub-assembly and packing. Thermoplastics only; nothing above 5.2 kg or 1300 tonnes. Full list: capabilities.

2. Which certificate and documents we can send today

ISO 9001:2015, certificate NVT 147210 issued by NVT Quality Certification International LLP, valid to 14 March 2027, for the design, manufacture, supply and sales of plastic injection moulded components. It is the only management-system certificate Kruger holds; the PDF is in the documents bar above.

With the offer: material certificates for the grades we run, certificates of conformance and inspection reports where required, and a signed NDA on request. Incoming, in-process and final inspection are documented per part, with batch traceability.

The one UL 94 rating we quote today is V-2, on a polypropylene copolymer grade we have run with the resin maker’s certificate on file. Product-level listings stay with the product owner.

3. Terms, Incoterms and lead times

Indian buyers are invoiced in rupees with GST. We quote FCA Chennai or FCA Nhava Sheva by default, DAP where costed, never DDP into the United States or the United Kingdom. First export orders run on letter of credit or advance payment; open account follows once an ECGC buyer limit is in place. New-account terms 45 days or less.

Every new tool is customer-funded or transferred in and stays the customer’s property, held at Kruger under bailment terms.

Lead times are stated in the offer: tooling lead time from the partner toolroom, T1 sample date and production schedule. We publish no blanket figure. For battery containers and covers, where a size is already tooled, samples come from the existing mould; where it needs a new mould, we build it against your committed volume, with the mould owned by you or amortised in the piece price.

Indicative tooling cost bands from our mould cost guide:

Tool classIndicative range
Small single-cavity, simple part, about 5 g₹200,000 to 300,000
Mid-size, 2 to 4 cavities, moderate complexity, about 5 g₹600,000 to 700,000
Large container-class tool, about 1,200 g₹3,500,000 to 4,000,000
Hot-runner, 16-cavity programme, about 10 g₹2,000,000 to 2,500,000
Published July 2026; your tool is priced from the drawing.

4. Who buys from Kruger, by sector

Names appear here only with written permission; the rest are sectors.

  • Battery: every container and cover for Microtex Energy, our sister company, and 2V cell containers in BS and DIN sizes and 12V monobloc containers for other battery makers.
  • HVAC and refrigeration: two fan-blade families in 15% glass-filled nylon for a refrigeration manufacturer, won in 2025, in volume production.
  • Electrical: insert-moulded connector caps and terminations for a global connector manufacturer; panel enclosures moulded and assembled.
  • Railways: polycarbonate coach window louvers and nylon door guides through coach integrators.
  • Exports: over 35,000 horticulture pots and trays shipped to Palms Agro Production Co., Kuwait; our first United States order is in production: polycarbonate exit signs, printed, assembled and individually packed.

Proof

20 per cent glass-filled polypropylene air-filter housings, supplied continuously since 2010 to six plants of a global filtration OEM. The name appears here once written permission is received.

5. How fast an engineer replies

Within 48 hours on working days, with DFM feedback from Madhusudhan, our Head of Production. Not a bot: Madhu has read your drawing before he replies. kruger@microtex.com is read twice daily. Quick questions go to WhatsApp +91 96864 48899; the drawing goes through the form below.

What happens next:

  1. Your files travel by email to Madhu; nothing is stored on this website.
  2. DFM feedback covers mouldability, wall thickness, gating and draft, material options, and the questions to settle before pricing.
  3. The offer, with its arithmetic shown: tooling itemised, piece price with its assumptions written down, Incoterm, payment terms and lead time.
  4. On order: CAE mould-flow before steel is cut, T1 samples, first-article report before the first shipment; a transferred mould gets incoming inspection, bench check and T1 trial first.

What to send

Send what you have; a hand sketch as a PDF is enough to start.

  1. The part: STEP plus a 2D drawing with revision and critical dimensions.
  2. The material, or the duty it must survive: datasheet guide.
  3. Annual quantity, programme life, batch size; cavitation is ours to show: cavities guide.
  4. Tolerances only where earned: tolerances guide.
  5. Surface finish per face, SPI grade or texture: surface finish guide.
  6. Colour route and master standard: colour guide.
  7. Everything after moulding: inserts, printing, assembly, packing, destination.

Design review is cheapest while the design still moves: design-for-mouldability rules. Tooling pricing: tooling guide and six cost drivers.

Infographic: the injection moulding RFQ, the seven items that decide the quote and the marks of a serious reply

Send the drawing. Madhusudhan, our Head of Production, replies with DFM feedback within 48 hours on working days.

Attach a STEP or PDF, say the annual quantity, the material if you know it, your country and your Incoterm preference. Madhu replies, not a bot. Your mould stays yours; NDA on request.

Files travel by email only and are not stored on this website; your enquiry details are kept in our enquiry log so that we can follow up.

Our usual minimum depends on the size of the part: about 100,000 parts a year under 50 g, 50,000 for 50 g to 250 g, 25,000 for 250 g to 1 kg, 12,000 for 1 kg to 3 kg and 6,000 above 3 kg. Below that you may still send your enquiry, but we may not be able to quote: the mould cost does not spread over enough parts to give you a sensible price.

For a new tool we need a drawing, a sample photo with a ruler in the picture, or a sketch with the main dimensions before we can quote. Attach drawings — STEP, IGES, STL, DWG, X_T, PDF, JPG, PNG or ZIP, up to 8 MB each. Files travel by email only and are not stored on this website; your enquiry details are kept in our enquiry log so that we can follow up. NDA available on request.
